HIVE®

All of Amerisleep's mattresses, except for the AS1, feature HIVE® technology. This layer provides zoned support to keep you in alignment and prevent tension from building up in the body. It contains hundreds of hexagon-shaped cutouts positioned in 5 critical zones–the head, shoulders, back, hips, and feet. 

In the areas where you need more support, such as the head, back, and knees, the hexagons are closer together, making those sections firmer. Where you need more cushion, such as the shoulders and hips, the hexagons have more space between them. The extra space helps the hexagons expand and compress more to provide you with extra cushion. 

Active Flex Mattress Foam

The AS5 contains Active Flex technology. Softer mattresses tend to lose a little of their responsiveness. This causes you to sink too far into the bed–making it difficult to move or change positions. Active Flex prevents this issue. This layer provides extra bounce, so while you enjoy a softer bed, you can still get the responsiveness that keeps you from feeling "stuck" in it.
