If you want to make sure that the log doesn’t rot, make sure to line it with a piece of plastic first to create a nice waterproof barrier between your potting soil and your dirt and plants. It will help this fun little log planter last even longer.

Tree Bench

All you need is some 2 x 4s from your local hardware store, a nail gun and a little patience. Building a tree bench just requires you creating a narrow round bench around the circumference of the trunk. Just keep building the bench all the way around the trunk of the tree until you have a complete circle. Most benches should be around 12-16 inches high off the ground and need to be about 4 boards thick in depth.

If you don’t have the tools to cut these pieces yourself, you can take your measurements to the local hardware store and most stores will cut the wood for you themselves.

Conceal Your Air Conditioner

One of the easiest is to take a piece of trellis board and cut it into four even pieces, so they surround the air conditioner on all sides. You just need to use a staple gun to securely connect the corners. Make sure that the trellis covering is short enough so you can still reach the AC unit if you need to do repairs.

This is an easy way to get a decorative covering and you can even have vines and plants grow along the trellis in order to bring even more covering (and even more beauty) to the outside of your AC unit.

One of the best and easiest ways to make a garden ball is to use an old bowling ball! This is the perfect way to repurpose or recycle old bowling balls that you have laying around. You can also ask your local bowling alley if they have any unwanted bowling balls that they are ready to get rid of.

You can paint the bowling ball for display in your garden, or you can add other adornments to the outside. Popular options include pebbles, decorative glass, mosaic stones or marbles. Just hot glue or adhere them on to the outside of the bowling ball and you can start making a unique look that is entirely your own. Sometimes, the weight of the bowling ball alone will be enough to keep it in place. You can also stick these garden balls in your beds with a stake or display them on bird baths or fountains for an unexpected pop of color.
